Town Creek, NC

Town Creek
Beaufort, North Carolina

Town Creek was a tricky little anchorage to enter. We no longer have our electronic chart plotter so everything is with the old fashion way for us now...paper charts and your eyes! A bit refreshing really, however, we did strike bottom in the anchorage and stuck! It was the first time Kirsten had to abandon ship into the dinghy because of a "situation", while Steve stayed at the helm. Thanks to friends (and strangers) we were able to get "un-stuck" by having 2 different dinghys, with much larger engines than ours, push on both our bow and stern!
It was a good experience with a good ending. The girls were oblivious down below the entire time playing in the "V-berth". At one point Maddie popped her head up and said, "Oh, we've anchored!" Not exactly, peanut...

We also had our first introduction to Carolina "Gumbo"! Delicious!
Thank you to Ron and Theresa for inviting us for lunch on their boat "Lastdance", Yum!
